Stratgear is a new strategy for your gear!

Stratgear.com offers some really nice handcrafted electronic artifacts for music production, that you probably won’t find on the street stores next to you.

We prefer to deal with:

• Small batches of handmade gear > rather than > mass-production ones.
• The person(s) who handcrafted the products  > rather than > a huge sales department.
• Point-to-point and hand-wiring > rather than > automation.
• Analog > rather than > digital

Porto, home of the vintage!

We are based in a truly “vintage” town (Porto, Portugal) and although we don’t operate in a physical shop, we tend to like all kinds of vintage stuff, including Port (wine), of course. That’s why we usually have in stock a good selection of pedals, inspired by vintage tones, sometimes including some new old stock (NOS) components inside.

We support local bands and artists by providing the tools they need to help on their creative process. We also participate in local events like “Oporto Soundshock”, “Amplifest”, “NOS em D’bandada”, “gnration Market” where we showcase some of the products in our portfolio.

Recycling tone, since 2012

We’ve always been focused on the three R’s policy, applied to music technology.
Why should this be so important?
When you choose to buy handcrafted gear, you will contribute to:
• Reduce mass production
• Reuse gear
• Recycle tone

It wouldn’t make sense to worry about the environment and at same time promote consumerism. Our prices don’t end on a “9”, we are not a supermarket.

Stratgear Collection is another web space run by us, where we can help you to privately sell/trade your used guitar pedals, as long as they are old enough or they are sexy enough. Fill this form if you need help on a pedal appraisal.

A bird? Why?

Paulinha (August 2010 – June 2023) was a European Greenfinch that was rescued from a foreseeable death when she fell from her nest, during a scorching summer afternoon. We managed, with great effort, to feed her properly and keep her among the family, moving free inside the house. Due to inexperience, we let too much time pass and when we thought about returning her to nature, unfortunately, it was too late. She was already domesticated and very much used to people…and pedals!
She used to be extremely curious and to follow us in everything we were doing, like taking pictures of pedals. She will stay with us forever.
